Hi. To start off this blog, if you don't know what TWWK (The World We Knew) is, it's an indie animation project of mine. You can watch the first episode here: TWWK Newgrounds or TWWK YouTube.
With that out of the way, it has been 3 years since the first episode's release. And in that time, I have been working on Episode 2, in one way or another. Not even working on it for weeks sometimes. I even have a scrapped episode 2 animated slightly. But why has it been as long as it has?
Now a reason people usually would have is because it's a long episode or so much work is being put into it. But in all honesty, that's not entirely the case at all. Long story short, I hate this episode. Narrative wise...

The narrative feels very repetitive when listening to it over and over and rereading the script over and over. To give you a premise of how it is without spoiling too much, it's literally just the two focus characters talking to each other FOR THE ENTIRE EPISODE!! And with that knowledge, you may start to understand why it gets repetitive.
There is NO flow. It doesn't even feel like the plot is expanding all that much other than the first and last scenes. And I think that ruins this episode for me and that causes me to be very slow with the animation. Mind you, this episode is about the same length, maybe even shorter, than the first episode. So I can't give the excuse that this episode is longer than the first when in reality: it's not.

And I think the biggest struggle of this episode's production is, I can't go back. I would rewrite the script if I weren't already halfway done with it lol
That would just be a bunch of progress thrown in the trash. And I simply can't do that. Not right now, not this project. But I definitely think that this episode's lack of plot really makes me more excited to work on Episode 3 because there's more I can try that wasn't attempted in this episode.

All in all, episode 2 is gonna be wack. And I'm trying to force myself to actually work on the damn thing to get it out. Because ain't no way in hell I'm taking another 3 years working on this particular episode again! Sooo this episode will take some time to finish. Maybe it will be good, idk. But I wouldn't be surprised if this is a mildly disliked episode either.
Anyways, if you have made it this far, thank you for reading. And for understanding (I hope). You probably don't even know the show and just decided to read this anyways. But do please consider watching the first episode from either of the links from above.
